Super Seaweeds

Of all the foods available on this planet, none can compare in the nutrient value of seaweeds. For centuries, native cultures have used seaweeds in their diets. Modern western cultures have often overlooked seaweeds as a primary source in their diets.

In a time when our foods progressively have decreased in nutritional values due to poor farming techniques, soil deterioration, hybridization of our plants, refining of our foods, genetically altering, etc, etc, etc…. It has never  been more important in history than it is now to consider adding them into your diets.

Due to the Gelatinous nature of the saccharides available in seaweeds, they provide soothing lubrication for the bowels and help to prevent constipation.

Various types of seaweeds provide varying levels of specific minerals and nutritional factors which gives seaweeds great potentials in helping the body in many health related problems.

For thousands of years, seaweeds have been used to prolong life, prevent disease, and preserve beauty.

In general, seaweeds are thermally cooling for the body, provide salty flavors, soften hardened areas and masses in the body, reduce high blood pressure, cleanse and detoxify, lubricate the intestines, improve water metabolism and cleanser for the lymphatic balance system, breaks up liver stagnation, alkalize the blood, lower bad cholesterol, treat thyroid disorders, rejuvenate the lungs, transform thick phlegm into fluid, moisten dryness in the body, and best food in the planet to remove radiation.

The red seaweeds have the highest antiviral compounds known on the planet.  The red marine algae commonly known as the red sea cabbage can be found in the summer months along the southwest Florida coastline. Its value as an antiviral compound is unsurpassed, but not widely known or talked about in the medical community.

Seaweeds are effective in treating swellings, nodules, lumps, goiter, swollen lymph glands, edema, chronic cough with yellow or green phlegm, all skin disorders with redness and tumors.

Chinese medical text claims “there is no swelling that is not relieved by seaweeds”.

The main reason for seaweeds healing and fluid balancing effects is their complexity and balance of minerals. Of over the 88 known mineral elements contained in our blood, seaweeds have every one of them. The minerals available in seaweed are readily available and useable to the human body. Due to the fact the minerals are bound with a carbon atom which is with all living plants. This effect allows for efficient cellular mineral absorption by the human body. The high level of minerals in seaweed and the ease of mineral absorption by the human body, makes even small amounts as little as ¼ - ½ teaspoon a day effective.

To receive the highest amounts of mineral values from seaweeds they should be eaten uncooked, either soaked or dried. Some of the finite trace elements like fluorine, which strengthen the bones, teeth, and body defense mechanisms, are lost within only a few minutes of cooking seaweeds.  If using seaweeds in soups or broths, be sure to drink the liquid portion that the seaweed was made in to receive its complexity of minerals.

One of the seaweeds beneficial attributes is that they do not concentrate pollutants and toxic heavy metals like other marine wild life. It is pleasing to know seaweeds simply do not absorb  and concentrate toxins. In fact seaweeds detoxify  and transform toxic heavy metals by converting them into to harmless salts which the human body can excrete through the intestines. Seaweeds are also highly alkaline forming for the body and helps to reduce internal acids accumulated in the body.
