Charles has been involved in the health care field for over 25 years. While in his first year of college working on his degree in program fitness management, Charles joined the army in a split option program as an army nurse. After college he served in Desert Storm as an E.R nurse and received an Army Commendation Medal for meritorious service.
Charles founded the Naples Optimum Health Institute in 1998. The institute later evolved into the Mangroves Health Institute which provided educational classes, health and cleansing programs, live food demonstrations, wheat grass, health assessments, individual consultations, and most of all inspiration to those seeking to learn how to take control of their health and well being.
His searches for the truth in health and healing led him into many areas of the natural health care field. He studied master herbalism (master herbalist); advanced bio-oxidative therapy, live blood analysis, reiki (reiki master), organic farming, live food principles, holistic nutrition, advanced dark field microbiology, biological terrain assessment, medical approved reflexology, and natural hygiene.
Charles has wild crafted herbal formulas for many years in Southwest Florida, and has developed the only fresh pressed saw palmetto tincture known as Palmetto Gold.
In 2002 he developed a 100% organic cooked and raw food cafe with produce market in Naples Florida, called Organic Charlie’s. The cafe was eventually taken over by his long time friend and mentor Frank Oakes which has since grown into the finest organic cafe and market in the state of Florida known as Food & Thought. We think it may be the largest 100% organic market and cafe in the country but are not able to verify it’s potential, but we are sure it is the finest in the country, truly like no other.
He has lectured in various parts of the US and Canada to the general public, as well as, physicians and various health practitioners.
Lecture topics range from health prevention, nutrition, natural health, herbalism, bio-oxidative principles, organic farming principles, live food preparation classes, proper PH, proper digestion, food combining, live food and juice principles, internal cleansing , natural survival classes, as well as corporation health/wellness seminars and retreats, three and four week live food rejuvenation programs, as well as, individual health consultations.
He has also provided additional programs for advanced wound care, diabetes, internal cleansing and fasting over the many years.
His extensive knowledge of health and healing correlates to a wide range of experiences from both the conventional medical system and natural health modalities. This rare blend of conventional and holistic experience provides Charles with a unique ability to bridge the often too large gap that exists between the holistic and conventional fields.
